Alexey Unagaev, Head of GIS

I’m Alexey. In 2019, I joined Deep Planet, as a GIS-specialist developing geographical methods of crop detection and harvest assessment in different countries of the world using all kinds of remote sensing data.

My expertise is in geospatial data interpretation and digital mapping in many different areas, from ecology and natural resources research to engineering and construction. My professional interests include environmental studies, vegetation analysis, geomatics and remote sensing data.

I graduated from Buryat State University (Ulan-Ude, Russia) as a specialist in Geoecology and Nature Management in 2007 and then got my PhD degree at St. Petersburg State University. My thesis was devoted to physiographic factors of the formation of recreational resources in the Baikal region.
