Python Engineer

The innovative global agri tech company Deep Planet has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Python Engineer to join our technology team. We are a rapidly growing company in the field of sustainable agriculture and are looking for an experienced engineer.
Key Responsibilities
Utilize the latest technologies to help build our satellite imagery data processing and analytics platform
Work with the technology team, including front-end developers and ML researchers to build robust and reliable platform
Help build integrations with external 3rd party API data services
Advise and mentor colleagues on best practices to employ when writing code for our environments
Develop clean, reusable code and proficient at design planning and documentation
What You Need To Succeed
5+ years of commercial professional experience working as a Python Engineer or related role
A fast learner with an ability to pick up new skills at a startup
Excellent communication skills, ability to prioritise and deliver with agile practices
Experience building web backends in Python
Experience with AWS services, such as Cognito, RDS, DynamoDB, EC2, etc
Experience with build and CI tools such as Webpack, Serverless, Gitlab CI, BitBucket CI etc
Knowledge and practical experience with testing methodologies including unit and integration testing
Proficiency in at least one other programming language
Ideal Background
Experience with one or more python web frameworks such as Flask
Experience with databases and ORMs, including SQL, No-SQL, in-memory data stores
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker)
BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
Personal demonstrable interest in environmental impact and sustainability
Interest/willingness to learn Machine Learning
